The is what I use for WoW version 4.3.4 going forward.

Shadow Priests are an interesting and fun class/subclass to play, and they are adept of a variety of damage abilities plus the obvious implied healing and buffing power that any priest class has to offer. They are very similar to warlocks in many respects, they just don’t have the ability to sport a pet.

Shadow priests have their own special style to add to the World of Warcraft, wreaking havoc with mind flay, as well as mind control shenanigans that can be a lot of fun to use on the unsuspecting victim of your mind stabbing ways.

So, sit back and let me show you how to make the very most of your shadow priests builds.

Priest Leveling Spec – The Best Talent Spec For Leveling a Priest in Cataclysm

Most priest leveling spec has some advantages. Many people will say that the Shadow Spec is the best, because of its high damage output capabilities. This is mostly true, However, this is not true from levels 10-49 especially in 4.3.4 going forward. The shadow build does become very powerful, but only at level 50 going forward. So the fastest priest leveling spec is in my experience: from 10-49 as a Holy Priest, from 50-85 as a Shadow priest.

To get the most out of this priest leveling spec the spell rotation should be:

From 10-49 as Holy Spec it would look like this:

Smite -> Mind Blast -> Shadow Word: Pain -> Power Word: Shield -> Devouring Plague

Then from levels 50- 80 the Shadow the spell rotation is:

Power Word: Shield -> Vampiric Touch -> Mind Blast -> Vampiric Embrace -> Shadow Word: Pain -> Devouring Plague -> Mind Flay

Some helpful Information

Tips you can use with your priest build:

1. The goal here is to spend the maximum time leveling and little or no time grinding  and wasted trips back and forth between quests and locations ( I have the best guide I use that cuts some major league time off of this! Check it out right here. You can download it and play with it for a free trial period. Which is a very nice feature! No commitment necessary), also If you are constantly running back and forth from the vendor to buy things and dump stuff then you’re using up valuable leveling time.
2. Set up an alt character and mail all of your auctionable items and other things you want to hold onto to that alt character.
3. Buy the bags with as many slots as you have money for, as soon and as often as you can upgrade them.(big time and item saver)
4. Carry plenty of all supplies you will need on your leveling spree, spell reagents and what not.
5. I urge you to learn the cooking skill so you can cook buffing foods, or you can just buy them at the Auction House if you prefer.
6. Questing is much better than grinding for getting XP, if you can do multiple quests together in one area, so much the better. (the guide I use also shows you exactly how to plot your questing path for this, it does it for you actually)
7. Always log out at an inn, to get the rested XP when you are ready to log back in.
8. Leveling with another player can make things go much quicker. Less XP per kill, but faster frags and less downtime will more than compensate for this. Just make sure your buddy isn’t an total noob.
9. When you attain level 40, purchase the dual talent capability and make your alt build a healing based one, which will put you in higher demand for group or party activities.( If you want to do dungeons)
10. If you are not proficient with mana, entertain the idea of using a wand.
11. Be cautious of casting fear spells, unless you really need to. Mobs will run and bring back more mobs.
12. Use your hearthstone often.(guide will tell you when)
13. Only buy gear upgrades if it’s a big step up from your current gear. It’s a waste of time and money to buy new gear every level

Recalling back on the strategies I use to use when trying to create some gold, It makes a head hurt. What I’ll bet though, is many of you reading this are probably currently using many of the slow, worn out and over exploited techniques of making gold. It’s not anyone’s fault really that this is the case, we have all been in that position at some point or another. We all want the coolest Epic mounts and top tier gear. You probably already know the basic ways of making money in WoW, the mining, picking, enchanting, item creating and implementing some basic Action House strategies and others. These are all normal and a basic way of creating some money in World of Warcraft.

I don’t know what your life schedule is like, but I have a full time job and even a social life (believe it or not). I don’t have months and years on end to save up for some 20,000 gold super mount or some really expensive elite gear. So, I came to the decision I would take a little time and do some research, because I had heard that some people have perfected some super techniques for making truly huge amounts of gold, in really short amounts of time. I knew I had to find out if this was really the case, because I wasn’t going to grind it out for the next 6 months, if I didn’t actually have to do so.

So, I did some hardcore research on this and I found that my situation was not the exception to the rule. In fact most players were in the exact same financial situation. I found some players that claimed to have some real gold creation secrets, but they refused to part with the valuable information for free. I can’t say I blame them this really, for not wanting to give their secrets out in the general public for free. Eventually I was able to convince a few of my guild members to point me to a guide that could really help. Wow! Let me tell you, this was a real eye opening bolt from the blue.

I was actually able to obtain myself over 8.000 gold in just about 30 hours. I was super happy. Then I found out my buddy who got it at the same time had, made over 11,000 gold in the same exact amount of time and I was a little humbled by him dwarfing my stack, but still was really happy with the results. I would have been lucky to make 2,000 or 3,000 gold in that time before getting this guide. So I really can’t complain at all though. Thanks for joining me at Priest Builds. Just so you have a some amount of background on myself, so you have some frame of reference. I’ve been a World of Warcraft addict for about four years now. I still take part in creating new alt characters just for fun or sometimes to help a friend out,which is what got me originally looking or the best leveling guide. I’ve always disliked the grind of having to level up my characters. In the past I have gone to outside websites for help get questing paths or buggy game add-ons that don’t get updated when the next WoW patch goes into effect, probably all the things you do or have done. As anybody who really likes playing MMO games usually knows already, you can go about trying to quest only if you want t give it the old college try, but it’s never quite as efficient as grinding it out, and in many cases it’s impossible, unless the game creators actually build quest-based leveling into the game they are making. (As they did with Burning Crusade, Lich king and Cataclysm). Well, with this guide here, It is not only very possible, but they have the record of levels 0-80 in only seven days of game play time! and that is with no grinding just questing.

While playing WoW for a bunch of years you begin to accept that there are just a lot of quests you miss out on in the course of playing WoW. The main issue is they are too scattered throughout the realms to be worth an attempt to level off of because you can’t keep track of them without going to an outside source or know which ones give out the most experience points, from your own memory or having to spend time on Thottbot. There is just not enough time in the day, at least for me there isn’t.

Because of this and other important reasons, I decided that I would give a trial to Zygor’s leveling guide. I might as well have, it was FREE to try.(which was just the right price for me) I’m a skeptical person myself. I figured, if nothing else it would give me a structured path I could follow if I had no real course of action for that day, but as it happens, when I installed this guide it added an entirely new level of ease and speed to my priest builds and really made for a way better game play experience. Above all it give me an advantage over all the people who don’t have it. If you haven’t already watched the video in the above post, check it out, it explains it much better than I can.

I gave it a play with the 1-15 guide on a recently made new paladin character, I was very impressed. I thought I was pretty awesome at leveling fast. I mean, I’ve already experienced levels 1-50 about 10 times prior. I know the Barens like the back of my hand, but the level of efficiency this guide introduced into my game play experience, turns me from an well versed leveler into a hardcore leveling machine. This was just really simple and very effective!

The days when I would get kinda bored leveling an alt and then change back to my main characters for the some fun PVP were greatly reduced. Partly just because I can get a character to level 80 now in no time. because This guide allows me to have my leveling paths mapped out for me ahead of time, Now I can be ready for the next zone I should move to, well before I would have ever conceived of setting my hearthstone for the new zone.(which the guide tells you in real time, when to do.) I don’t need to keep track of all the scattered quests and targets that yield the most XP and best rewards Zygor’s Guide does the all the busy work for me automatically. It for sure lets me level up way faster than my guild members who don’t have Zygor’s, without any doubt whatsoever. My guild mates actually thought I was powering in some big time grinding sessions to be advancing in level as rapidly as I was. That was not the even the case though, not one ounce of grinding involved, only questing. This is the real thing. They really have some great program designers and play testers over there.

Simply put, grinding was a total grind. Questing with Zygor’s is really a breeze. My one and only regret was not getting it much sooner to use on my other characters. Finally a big side note here!
